Summer Trips, Camps, and VBS

SUMMER MISSION TRIPS AND CAMPS  We will be following local, state, and CDC guidelines as we offer summer programming. Though it is a sadness to not have some of our usual opportunities, we are excited for our creative solutions!  Our staff and leaders welcome any of your ideas, as we continue to work on helping our church reach out with God’s Gospel love.

Summers are a fun and busy time at Family of Christ.

Ultimate Mission Day Camp

This year, we are making this an ultimate service and fun week. All the benefits of a summer trip while sleeping in your own bed most nights. We will kick off this camp on Sunday, July 11 with worship and end with one overnight, Wednesday into Thursday morning, July 15. Throughout the week, we will have multiple service projects a day, games, music, worship, and Bible Study! While some of the larger events like Feed My Starving Children will be for all age groups together, Bible Studies and service projects will be broken down by age group, 3-5th grade, 6-8th grade, 9-12th grade. Senior High students can attend this camp as a student or as a youth leader for the youngers. Because of the unique set up of this camp (where we are exercising every precaution to not cancel), we need a lot of parent and young adult help! Sunday to Thursday, July 11-15, for 3 age groups: 3-5th Grade, 6-8th Grade, and 9-12th grade. $95 + the opportunity for other giving.

Noah’s Ark Preschool VBS

Learn all about Noah’s Ark with Bible stories, music, games, science and art! If precautions allow, we will serve a family meal as part of this camp. Sun-Tuesday, July 18-20, for 3-5 years (not yet been in Kindergarten). $55

Senior High and Middle School Trips will return in 2022

National Youth Gathering – Minneapolis 2022

Every three years, 30,000 high school youth and their adult leaders from across the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America gather for a week of faith formation known as the ELCA Youth Gathering. Through days spent in interactive learning, worship, Bible study, service and fellowship, young people grow in faith and are challenged and inspired to live their faith in their daily lives. Annual El Salvador Adult Mission Trip 2022

(Jr/Sr in High school and older)

In previous years, Family of Christ youth and adults have traveled out of our comfort zones into a unique adventure of faith, learning, and self-discovery.  We’ll fly to San Salvador, where we’ll be met by Salvadoran church leaders. Each day we’ll go out in microbuses to explore the treasures of El Salvador and walk alongside our Salvadoran friends. Daily activities: service, sponsorship parties, visits to historical sites, hearing testimonies, small group devotions, singing, worship, and more. Details available in the fall for the following summer trip. (11th graders – adult)
