Our mission statement and motto at Family of Christ is “Making Disciples, Making a Difference”. God calls all of us together to be God’s hands and feet to serve in a world of hurt. The opportunities below need your hands and feet. For donations and drives, see Give Resources.
Do you love to cook? We are looking to add to our list of meal donors for families who are going through trying times. When we hear of a family that could use a meal or two, I will send out an email to the whole list, if the date works well for you, you would just respond that you’re available and I would send you their contact information. You don’t need to commit to a certain number of meals per year; it’s very much an “if it works for you” kind of volunteer spot but one that is very much appreciated by the recipients! Contact Kim if you’re interested in helping out! Thank you!
The FoC Quilting Ministry makes quilts for Lutheran World Relief and various Veterans programs. Tying quilts only, no sewing is required. Help is always welcomed and appreciated! Join the fun for a couple of hours every other Friday afternoon, starting at 1 PM (Summers and December off). Oh, and there are other ways to help such as sewing squares together at home, sharpening scissors, or delivering quilts to the LWR warehouse twice a year. For further information, contact Lynne Merrick at 952-937-8014.
Want to Help Make the Prayer Shawls?
In the cold, dark nights of winter, would you like to learn how to knit or crochet? It is very comforting and satisfying to pray and serve others by making prayer shawls for people. We would love to teach you. If you already know how or would like to learn how to crochet or knit, and would like to join us making prayer shawls, please contact Melanie Wegner or join us on Fridays at 11:15am in the church youth room. Newcomers are always welcome!
Know Someone Who Could Benefit from a Prayer Shawl?
The Prayer Shawl Ministry makes prayer shawls for anyone in need of some warmth and comfort, or anyone having a difficult time in their lives. Please let Melanie Wegner know if you have an idea of someone who could use a prayer shawl. She would be happy to wrap one up and deliver it.
