Pastoral Update- 11/18/20

Hello friends and members of Family of Christ,

I’m writing today to let you know we have decided to adjust our gradual re-opening plans to take a small step backwards and suspend our 8 AM in person worship services for a time.  We will also encourage committees and teams and study groups to continue meeting remotely as much as possible.  All of this is our attempt to align ourselves with the State of Minnesota’s encouragements to limit gatherings in order to lower risks of potential Covid-19 infections.

By early October, we had harbored hopes of opening more and more events to in-person gatherings, but it has become quite apparent that we should not do that, at least not quite yet.  With the good news of vaccine developments, we certainly nurture hope that our day to gather in person again is coming soon – but we know it is not yet.

So let’s keep being safe in every way we can think of.  Let’s keep our fervent prayers going for our church, our state, our nation and our world.  And let’s keep our hopes high through this coming holiday season, but equally, we’ll keep our precautions in place too.  We will, of course, continue to offer our 10 AM Livestream worship services week by week.

God’s peace to you all! ~ Pr. Josh Nelson
