DONUT PICKUP Ever wonder how the donuts arrive fresh and delicious for your enjoyment on Sunday mornings? We have a small group of people who run over to Kwik Trip (Galpin and 5) on Saturday or early Sunday morning (before 8:00 AM) to pick up our order and drop it off here at church. We are really in need of a few more families to help out in this area. If you’re able to do this easy task, we would be very appreciative! Talk to Kim with questions.
ANGST Family of Christ is shining light on mental health and sparking a local conversation about anxiety through the screening of a brand-new documentary, “Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety“. On Wednesday, Sept, 11 at 6:30 PM, we will hold a special screening of the documentary to open up a dialogue between local families, community leaders and experts. The event will feature a viewing of the 56-minute film, followed by an informative discussion, led by FoC member Rod Franks, Licensed Psychologist. The following Wednesday, September 18 from 6:30-8:00 PM, Family of Christ will host a Knowledge Café featuring resources and brief rotating discussions with experts around anxiety. Childcare and activities for all ages will be provided both evenings. (If you are interested in supporting this event by helping with childcare, please contact Teri Burns at email@example.com.) Promotional materials are available on the counter in the narthex. Please take some to share with friends, family and neighbors. Questions? Contact Pastor Kimberly at Kimberly@familyofchristonline.org or Leann Thompson at firstname.lastname@example.org

GOD’S WORK, OUR HANDS AN FEET! Clean out your closets and donate! Soles4Souls provides both short-term relief and long-term solutions to global poverty. Visit online at soles4souls.org Short-term relief-free shoe and clothing distribution: Everyday, people are exposed to life threatening diseases, children are prevented from attending school, adults are unable to work, because they lack adequate clothing and footwear. New shoes and clothing provide relief to people living in extreme poverty in developing nations, in times of disaster, and helps bridge the economic gap in the United States and Canada. Long-term solutions-job creation (micro-enterprise) Soles4Souls’ micro-enterprise model provides people living in deep poverty in developing nations the opportunity to start and sustain small businesses selling shoes. Donated new and gently worn shoes act as a resource to help entrepreneurs generate income to provide for themselves and their families. The shoes you no longer want, create opportunities people need. Bring your new or gently worn shoes to church starting September 8th and collecting through September 30th. Visit online at soles4souls.org | On social media @Soles4Souls
TAKE CARE Our fall theme in worship will be called “Take Care” and it will help us focus on the care and well-being that God desires for each of us. We’ll utilize this verse from 1 Peter 5:7 – “Cast all your anxiety on him, because God cares for you.” Each week will have a different aspect of the ‘Take Care’ theme to develop, plus we’ll have special events such as the Angst movie presentation on Sept. 11, and the Knowledge Café on Sept. 18. Let’s together move toward health, wholeness, and harmony for God’s people and our world.”
