Pastor’s Periodic Pondering
|Late Summer Announcements:|
FALL WORSHIP TIMES Starting on Sept. 8, we will begin offering worship at three different times, two of which are a little earlier than last school year: 8:00, 9:00 and 10:30 AM. The 8:00 offers hymnal worship utilizing traditional Lutheran liturgy. The 9:00 is more blended as it is sometimes led by choir, and sometimes by worship team. The 10:30 is typically contemporary in style. Note that we will offer a midweek worship that connects with our Christos and Confirmation students’ schedules but is open to all. That will be a half-hour worship service at 6:00 PM, beginning Oct. 2.
DONATIONS FOR SOJOURNER SHELTER Our Christians in Action (CIA) Committee invites your donation to Sojourner Shelter for battered women and children. You can find copies of their needs-list on our CIA bulletin board. Please take one! Any donations can be left in the marked bin. Our drive will run from August 4th through September 1st. Thank you in advance for any help you can give. Contact Chris Allen for any questions. (586) 596-4564.
DONUT PICKUP Ever wonder how the donuts arrive fresh and delicious for your enjoyment on Sunday mornings? We have a small group of people who run over to Kwik Trip (Galpin and 5) on Saturday or early Sunday morning (before 8:00 AM) to pick up our order and drop it off here at church. We are really in need of a few more families to help out in this area. If you’re able to do this easy task, we would be very appreciative! Talk to Kim with questions.
LICKETY SPLITS BOWLING LEAGUE Are you looking for a new way to meet and make new friends, get a little exercise and get out of the house twice a month? Put a new spin on your fall/winter activities and join us for a fun night of bowling! The Lickety Splits Bowling league will be starting up again on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Country Club Lanes in Excelsior. All are welcome! If you have questions or are ready to sign up contact Greg Provo at email@example.com.

Hours include Sunday mornings, Wednesday evenings during the school year and various dates throughout the year and some holidays. If you are interested in being considered for one of these positions, please apply to Teri Burns at firstname.lastname@example.org by August 30th. Training will be provided.
