Periodic Pondering

When I heard about this summer’s Sunday theme of, “What Were They Thinking,” it instantly got me thinking that I wanted to have this theme connect with all ages of our congregation and hear what people thought about our church. Or what they are thinking about right now (like me as I’m always thinking about cats). The staff thought this would be fun if I wrote these up for the ponderings this summer and for an extra blurb in the bulletins.   We’re inviting people to answer certain questions so we can all get to know more about what goes on at Family of Christ,  just as we start to learn about what people in the Bible were thinking. I hope you will also ponder these questions after reading and even discussing with others. Enjoy!-Solveig Nelson, Summer Media Specialist

What Were They Thinking?

Will Johnson- Faith in Action project (Will created two classes about the Lord’s Prayer focusing on Daily Bread and Forgiveness)

Question: What made you think to lead two Summer Sunday School classes for your faith in action project?

Will: “Well, I was a little late with my faith in action project due to some procrastination which wasn’t good, so I didn’t have many choices when I finally started thinking about it. So, I asked my mom what I could do and she suggested that I teach Sunday School and I thought, I could do that.”

Question: Was it a success? Did you enjoy it?

Will: “The kids loved it, they got treats, and had fun. I liked it, it was pretty fun. It wasn’t too hard.”

Question: Why do you think it is important for ninth graders about to be confirmed to do a faith in action project?

Will: “Well, it kind of gets them out there and gets you active with your faith and makes you intertwine with your faith. It makes you want to do something with your faith and help other people”

Marylin Unze- Choir

Question: What do you think it is about choir that you enjoy so much?

Marylin: “I love the people. I love the older, I love the younger, I love everybody.”

Question: What do you think others should know if they’re on the fence about joining a choir in this church?

Marylin, “Just come, and enjoy yourself. We have so much fun.”
