What Were They Thinking Week 3
In connection with this summer’s Sunday theme (What Were They Thinking), we’re inviting people to answer certain questions so we can get to know more about the folks around Family of Christ. I hope you will also ponder these questions after reading and discussing with others.

What Were They Thinking?
Reid Mathers and Jack Leone-projectionists
Question: What do you think you like most about being a projectionist?
Reid: “I get a sense of two services, the 8:30 and 10, so one more traditional and one more upbeat which is fun to hear.
Jack: “Like Reid said, it’s pretty great going to two different services. But it also gives me another reason to go to church which is always a good thing.”
Question: What do you think you’re looking forward to most this summer?
Reid: “Probably, having time off, getting to spend some time in the sun. Sleeping in.
Jack: “Probably my two-week Europe trip with my family. We’re going to Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Prague.”
Greg Provo and Mark Even-expert grillers and servers
Question: What do you think serving means to you?
Mark: “Biggest thing about serving to me is relationship building and relationship maintenance. Getting to know new people and growing friendships and making new ones along the way.”
Greg: “Serving here at church to me is something that comes naturally. I grew up serving, my folks set the example. I feel like it’s a part of who you are as a Christian. Serving fulfills that part of our faith.”
A Few Announcements:
SIMPLY SUMMER WILL NOT MEET ON JULY 3 due to the Indendence Day holiday. We’ll enjoy our usual activities of a picnic supper, Jammin’ with Jesus, and Outdoor games. But we’ll also experience an evening of music in our sanctuary starting at 7:00 PM.
YOUNG ADULTS (post-high school through 30ish): Join us each summer Wednesday after worship at 7:30 PM for “Are You Talking to Me?”- an opportunity for some casual and meaningful conversation about topics relevant to your stage of life and your personal faith. We’ll use YouTube, Ted talks, Podcasts and more multi-media platforms as a springboard for our open and honest discussions. Let’s see what we can learn from them and from each other! On Sunday, June 30th, we’ll be meeting after the 10:00 AM worship and going out for brunch.
UPCOMING CONCERT JULY 10 Simply Summer means getting the band back together! Andrea Zimmerman and the musicians of ExSOULtation will sing and send us out with a message of Faith, Hope, and Love. All are welcome to this contemporary song-filled worship at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 10. There will be a worship set of music, then an additional set for those who can stay for the full hour. You will go out singing Until the Whole World Hears! Are you humming yet?
